One of the best movies of the decade is on the TV tonight.
Another day of Love Island, and another day of the World Cup, with Belgium V Tunisia at 1pm, South Korea V Mexico at 4pm, and Germany V Sweden at 7pm.
On top of that, there’s some crackers to catch at the cinema, including Ocean’s 8 and Hereditary, which you can hear our thoughts of right here:
If you’re staying on the couch for the evening, and not interested in any of the above, then we’ve got some other suggestions for you:
SATURDAY 22 JUNE
Muppets Most Wanted – BBC One – 5.05pm
Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Lady Gaga join the cast of the Muppets as they travel on a world tour, and Kermit’s doppleganger – who also happens to be a jewel thief – lands the green one in prison.
Lucy – Film 4 – 9.00pm
ScarJo is forced to ingest some new super-drugs, that slowly but surely turn her into a super-human, much to the chagrin of the people who actually own the drugs. An absolutely bonkers sci-fi.
Now You See Me – E4 – 9.00pm
Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Michael Caine star in this twisty-turny thriller about a group of magicians who attempt to pull off a series of extravagant heists around the world.
Assault On Precinct 13 – Film 4 – 10.45pm
This 1976 siege thriller is a masterclass in tension, when a soon-to-be-closed LAPD precinct suddenly becomes ground zero for an all out-war with some merciless gang members looking for revenge.
Whiplash – RTE Two – 11.30pm
Miles Teller wants to become one of the best jazz drummers in the world, and teacher J.K. Simmons is a tough teacher. This doesn’t sound like a great set up, but trust us when we say this is one of the best movies of the decade.
Bullitt – RTE One – 11.45pm
Features one of the greatest car chases in cinematic history.
Scarface – ITV4 – 11.50pm
“SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!”
