A new bar serving a mix of music and drinks has opened in Carlisle.
Mixers, which employs four staff, opened its doors with an Adele tribute act.
It is being run by Matthew Wills-Jenkins, who also owns The Currock pub on Boundary Road.
The bar is based in the unit formerly occupied by Queens, next to The Bronx at the top end of Botchergate.
Mr Wills-Jenkins, 30, said: “Mixers is my first bar. I’ve thought about it for a while and I never thought it would actually happen.
“When Queens closed I thought it was a good opportunity.
“We had a good opening weekend.”
The bar is open on Friday, Saturday and bank holiday Sundays.
Mr Wills-Jenkins, a former Newman School pupil, said: “I got the name because we are playing a mix of music and there’s a mix of drinks too.”
The bar held a Robbie Williams tribute act last night.
And next week – on Saturday, February 17 – it will welcome Lady Gaga tribute act Lisa Gaga.
The new bar also has a resident in-house DJ called Jonny Breeze.
Mr Wills-Jenkins said: “I think Botchergate is a good place to be. Having the takeaways close by helps.”
