MORRISTOWN — Perri Easley of Denville, a junior at Morristown-Beard School, was chosen as a 2018 Channel Kindness Reporter for the Lady Gaga Born This Way Foundation.
The Born This Way Foundation was started in 2012 to help empower young people to create a kinder and braver world. As one of 50 Channel Kindness reporters, Easley will be trained to recognize and report on the acts of kindness she spots in her daily life. Easley will make videos, write articles and record podcasts for the Born This Way Foundation social media accounts that will also be shared and distributed by traditional media.
At Morristown-Beard, Easley is president of the Social Justice Board; a leader of Kaleidoscope, the school’s multicultural diversity club; foundation chair of Jack & Jill, a leadership and service-based organization; and a member of the French Club.
Easley began her reporting duties last month, meeting with the other youth reporters and members of the BTWF team in New York City. “BTWF strives to make kindness cool, validate the emotions of young people, and to end the stigma of mental health, which are all things that I am incredibly excited to do this year,” said Easley.
